Margarita "Maggie" Emilia Vera was the second daughter of Dexter Vaughn, the third daughter of Marisol Vera, and the adopted daughter of Ray Vera. She was the youngest sister of the last Vera-Vaughn sisterhood of the Charmed Ones, meaning it was her duty to protect innocents and occasionally save the world. This makes her the younger sister of the late Macy Vaughn and the younger maternal half-sister of Melanie Vera.

After the death of Macy, who was killed by Abigael Jameson Caine, the Vera-Vaughn sisterhood of the Charmed Ones was disbanded, and as a result, they could no longer access the Power of Three. They were the last charmed ones in the world.

Powers and Abilities

Active Powers:

  • Empathy - Maggie's primary power initially allowed her to magically sense and feel the emotions of others. However, empathy is an umbrella term seemingly denoting any abilities involving emotions. Maggie's tactile ability required her to touch the beings whose minds she wished to read and whose emotions she wanted to sense. Clothing was not a barrier, meaning she did not need skin-to-skin contact to make an empathic connection, only the close proximity of touch. Despite not knowing his location, Maggie's powers had expanded as of Red Rain, allowing her to connect with Parker on an empathic plane. In "Safe Space", Maggie's empathic powers are rendered dormant when her aura is stripped. Eventually, Maggie's empathic powers were restored by projecting her own emotions onto others, as shown in "Don't Look Back in Anger" as she made those security guards feel anger as she was having a heated conversation with her father, Ray.
    • Emotional Inception: In Don't Look Back in Anger, Maggie's powers expand, allowing her to cause others to feel whatever emotions she does. In An Inconvenient Truth, Maggie's powers grew as she accidentally incepted Mel with many different emotions; she doesn't have a good grip on her power yet. As of You Can't Touch This, Maggie is now able to purposely incept someone with emotion as she sees fit, as we see her incept calmness onto the monster. In Yew Do You, she uses her dancing abilities in sync with her power to help communicate with Julie and break her out of her hypnotic trance from Omon.
  • Foresight - In Deconstructing Harry, Maggie gained the ability to perceive small segments of future events. This ability manifested after she had come in direct contact with black amber, and several subsequent attempts to use this ability required Maggie to do so again (i.e. she received her first few psychic visions through tactical contact with Jordan Chase's family ring before channelling the power from the black amber tree located in the Command Center). However, in Guess Who's Coming to SafeSpace Seattle, Maggie seemed able to access this ability free of using black amber. According to Mel, Maggie's powers of foresight can be focused either through proximity or a personal item belonging to the subject of her vision. Maggie’s foresight also enabled her to predict Jordan's moves while they were combat training, and she described herself as now having cat-like reflexes. In Breaking the Cycle, Maggie was first shown to also be able to access her power while she was asleep through precognitive dreaming. As of Search Party, Maggie is shown to be able to recall a previous vision. In Yew Do You, Maggie was able to get a vision of the past to find Julie Hoffman's location.
Passive Powers
  • The Power of Three: The bond and connection between Maggie and her sisters, known as the Charmed Ones, who are said to be the most powerful trio of witches. Maggie and her sisters use their powers to protect innocent lives and vanquish demons, often invoking their joint "Power of Three" to defeat their enemies. Evidently, certain spells require the Power of Three and cannot be cast by even the most powerful witches, like Charity Callahan. In "Safe Space", since the Charmed Ones' individual powers were stripped when they went through the portal to the Command Center, the Power of Three became ineffective as well, until a chance encounter with a retired Elder helped the sisters realize they could take on and finally regain the Power of Three in "Third Time's the Charm". After the death of Macy, who was killed by Abigael Jameson Caine because Macy was infected, the Vera sisters lost their connection to the Power of Three.
    • Resistance: Presumably through the Power of Three, the Charmed Ones can resist the effects of having their memory erased to a certain extent, allowing the memories to slowly bleed back through.

  • Immunity: Being a witch, Maggie is inherently immune to certain magical abilities (e.g., the Sirens' songs and Pixie Dust).
